FRAMEWORK
From the need to keep the company active and awakened, it was in a spirit of resilience that we have decided to set out for a new creation in the context of a pandemic. We invited to this performance professionals from different courses and disciplines in a creative crossover supported by the individual experience.
The creation process had two stages, weekly meetings by video conference and two artistic residencies. The premiere took place at the “Dos Modos Nascem Coisas” Festival on September 12th, 2020.
SYNOPSIS
Transhumance is understood as the seasonal displacement of the herds for places that offer better conditions during a given part of the year. The performance is anchored in a concept of constant demand and is a metaphorical cross between the singularities of man and a flock.
We have a shepherd and a flock. Transhumants are characters of executives, the stereotyped image of the individual who wears a black suit and executive suitcase. Grazing is guided and mastered by the character of a shepherd. (traditional image of a shepherd). The performance is at its whole a symbolic game that leaves open different readings of the same object, the images created carry easily to a contrasting universe between the rural world and the urban world or for capitalism as a form of transhumance.
The performance has a record of ambulation with small, fixed notes, which seek an exploration of the various physical spaces that the street offers us.
